Im in Pinang and have decided I want to settle from travelling just for a month before I return to Thailand. I am looking for an area where I can just relax and play guitar/eat nice food and socialise with locals. So what are some places that are cheap to live in? I've been to KL but am looking for something a little different, connected by train to KL would be ok though. Also would be good if the city/area has a gym. Oh and nice girls :) But I guess there everywhere in asia :)

Malacca is a good place to stay, about 3 hours away from KL by road. From Malacca, you can try to explore other smaller towns in Johor, such as Muar. http://all.talkmalaysia.com/malacca/

Why dont u live in Kuantan? Its a really cheap place and its surrounded by beautiful beaches. One of its main attractions is Teluk Chempedak (a beach) If you are looking for somewhere to stay, stay at Tembeling Resort. They have nice, affordable apartments there and its 5 minutes from Teluk Chempedak and 15 minutes from the town area. Kuantan is also a 30 minute drive from Balok and Cherating. Go look up Cherating on google. Its awesome. A real good place to relax...And from my experience in Kuantan, if u want simple paradise, go to the Swiss Garden Resort in Balok, Kuantan, and theres a sunday bar that has a simply beautiful view of the beach in the evening. ( you only have to pay for the drink you have there, dont worry, its not part of the hotel) *And no, its not a mainly a small town, in Kuantan town area there are night clubs, 4 star restaurants, 2 international schools, 4 malls and you probably know what I mean.
